Steve Wilkin, who learned to play piano at the tender age of six, has been performing with bands and as a solo musician for some thirty years.

Starting out on the club scene in Birmingham, he later joined a group performing at a top North Midlands dinner dance/cabaret venue where he stayed for some ten years. Steve always strives to use the latest professional music technology and so during this time Steve's piano/synthesiser and keyboard talents added an extra dimension to the group's music.

At the same venue, cabaret backing was provided for a wide variety of professional acts and TV. There was also a performance by Steve and his band to a member of the Royal Family.

Following a dinner-dance residency at a popular Midlands theme park, Steve played with a top, five-piece function band providing high quality corporate entertainment with solo piano/keyboard performances at the UK's top hotels and golf clubs as well as the National Exhibition Centre. When time allows, Steve writes, arranges and performs music for theatre productions.

Steve’s personality, professionalism and attention to musical detail make him an undisputed asset to the Five Live line up.
